CERRADO VIVO

Transparency System in the Soy Supply Chain in the State of Maranhão

Currently, various tools provide information on deforestation and other irregularities related to the soy supply chain. However, gaps in management and lack of integration of official databases result in inconsistencies and conflicting information, undermining the credibility of analyses. In this context, the Cerrado Vivo project aims to develop innovative technological solutions to promote transparency, focusing on traceability in the soy supply chain in Maranhão, through the integration of the SIFMA (Agribusiness and Native Vegetation Monitoring and Inspection System) and SeloVerde systems.

METHODOLOGY

The analysis of CAR “big data” for the state of Maranhão is conducted using geoprocessing and database modeling tools such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Dinamica EGO. All of these are open-source technologies that leverage land use data, deforestation, enforcement actions, and other geospatial data to generate territorial intelligence. The hybrid computational infrastructure of these platforms enables data and applications to be shared between public and private clouds in a scalable and secure manner.

RESULTS

Shortly.
